Academic Programs

The Academic Program in World Languages
Courses in Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Latin, and Spanish are offered at various middle and high schools throughout Baltimore County.  To see a list of high schools, the languages offered there, and the associated middle school feeders, please click here.

The Passport Elementary Spanish Program is being offered at 45 elementary schools.For more information on the Passport Program and the schools where it is offered, please click here.


Curriculum Migration
Always on the lookout for innovative methods and tools, the Office of World Languages, as part of a systemwide shift, is starting the process of migrating curriculum to our new learning management system, Schoology.  More information for the 2018-19 School Year on how students and parents can use this tool to access curriculum and important resources will be forthcoming.

Professional Development
Instructional expertise and continuing professional development are integral partners.  As the Office of World Languages seeks to deepen its proficiency approach, teachers work toward implementing proficiency strategies in the classroom.
