Extended Year Learning

July 9, 2018 – August 3, 2018

High School
High school students access self-paced blended courses in their high school EYLP program to:

  • Earn original high school credits for graduation

  • Recover high school credits for graduation

  • Expand their range of courses and opportunities.

Seats are limited. Enrollment is on a first come basis. Students can access additional opportunities for credit recovery and advancement through their school’s SPARC program or regional Extended Day Learning Programs (EDLP).

Each student personalizes learning by:

  • Collaborating with a teacher to create learning experiences including independent on-line work, peer-to-peer group work and teacher-directed instruction

  • Determining when course assignments are completed outside of regularly scheduled meetings and assessments with the teacher

  • Accessing digital content from any location with internet access including their EYLP classroom

BCPS has high academic standards for self-paced blended learning students and with direct support from teachers, students are expected to master their course content with no less than an 80%. There are over 20 courses offered through the EYLP Program.

Please contact your school counselor for enrollment information.

Middle School
Baltimore County Public School students are recommended for reading and mathematics skill and knowledge development in this summer’s Extended Year Learning Program (EYLP) based on reading and mathematics proficiency. Seats are limited. Enrollment is on a first come basis.

Students participate in research-based reading and mathematics programs designed to meet the specific instructional needs of each student. Each day will include two hours of reading and two hours of mathematics in which students rotate among different stations.

  • Online programs using pre-assessments to prescribe targeted individualized learning experiences

  • Project-based activities engaging students in deeper learning experiences

  • Teacher-led individualized instruction providing feedback as students progress through each concept

Please contact your school counselor for additional information.

Non-BCPS High School students may access select courses where seats are available.  BCPS can only provide report card grades.  We cannot provide transcripts. The EYLP Application for Non-BCPS students will be available here on May 7, 2018.  Non-BCPS students will be offered available seats beginning May 29, 2017.
