The goal of EDLP participation, is to ensure that what is needed to earn a diploma is available to the student. Parents/guardians follow these steps to initiate the process:
1. Students seeking enrollment in a BCPS high school begin their enrollment by contacting a school counselor at their zoned school for a transcript review and graduation planning meeting. At that time, recommendations about best point of enrollment can be made and families should be informed about what to bring to an enrollment appointment. This type of enrollment requires approval, which usually occurs within a week of the recommendation being made.
2. All parents/guardians and students are required to attend an orientation at each site where classes will be taken. During the 2021-2022 school year, orientations will be hosted via Google Meet prior to the student’s first class. School counselors making recommendations to EDLP will provide an orientation flyer to parents/guardians/students; this flyer will have all log in information and schedules for EDLP orientations.
