Steps for Enrollment - BCPS Students

The goal of EDLP participation, whether as part of a comprehensive high school experience or in lieu of one, is to ensure that what is needed to earn a diploma is available to the student.  To that end, the following steps are in place to ensure success:
  1. Contact your school counselor for enrollment and/or participation information.   A current list of course offerings is available to BCPS professional staff via our Schoology group.
Students not currently enrolled in a Baltimore County Public High School should contact a school counselor at their zoned school for a transcript review and graduation planning meeting. At that time, recommendations about best point of enrollment can be made and families should be informed about what to bring to an enrollment appointment.  This type of enrollment requires approval, which usually occurs within a week of the recommendation being made.

  2. All parents/guardians and students are required to schedule an orientation at each site where classes will be taken.  That can be scheduled by calling 443-809-2270. Orientation begins at 6:30 p.m. on weeknights, and at 8:30 a.m. on Saturdays.

  3. Starting in the 2019-2020 school year, BCPS will provide bus transportation to students participating in the EDLP.  Transportation is provided using a depot model, as is done for summer programs.  Students taking advantage of bus transportation must be able to get to and from the elementary school identified as the depot stop in the evenings.  It is always at the discretion of parents/guardians to access or decline available transportation.
