The middle school mathematics curriculum continues to Build the Foundation by capitalizing on students' strengths and interests to introduce them to how mathematics can be used as a tool and a language in the various STEM and Humanities fields.
The high school mathematics curriculum provides time to Fortify the Foundation by solidifying students' readiness for post secondary mathematics courses and opportunities that rely on a strong understanding and application of mathematical concepts and skills.
The Instructional Mathematics Resources provides the list of core resources used within each course.
The Secondary Mathematics Course Sequence is linked here and shown below:

The Secondary Mathematics course sequence for Baltimore County Public Schools is designed with these guiding principles in mind:
Middle School Course Sequence Principles |
High School Course Sequence Principles |
✓ Provide students access to all the middle school standards (grade
6, 7, and 8) prior to Algebra 1.
✓ Provide students opportunities to access Algebra 1 by grade 8.
✓ Provide access and opportunity to standards aligned, rigorous
instruction (balance of conceptual understanding, procedural
